New Season beginning October 21
While anytime is the perfect time to start - October 21 is especially special. We will be at the starting point of some of our materials making it the perfect time to jump in. We will be starting our series "living with the Fruit of the Spirit." We may have heard of the idea before - but how does that actually work? EMOTIONAL RESILIENCE: Living with the Fruit of the Spirit Transforming Your Mind Through God's Truth
What Is Emotional Resilience?
Emotional Resilience is a comprehensive 50-session program that integrates neuroscience, trauma-informed therapy, and Christian spirituality. Over 19 years, this curriculum has helped hundreds of people develop the Fruit of the Spirit—not as forced behavior change, but as natural expressions of a regulated nervous system and renewed mind.
The Science Behind Spiritual Fruit
What the Bible calls the "Fruit of the Spirit" and what neuroscience calls "emotional regulation" describe the same God-designed capacity. When Paul wrote about love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, he identified the natural outcomes of a brain functioning as God intended.
Three Levels of Understanding:
- Biological: Your brain has neural pathways that either lead to reactive, survival-mode responses or to regulated, thoughtful responses. When these pathways function properly, you naturally demonstrate resilience.
- Psychological: Emotional resilience is the ability to return to baseline functioning after stress, maintaining perspective and healthy responses even under pressure.
- Spiritual: The Fruit of the Spirit represents Christ-like character that emerges when we're not controlled by fear, shame, or old wounds. It's who we become as we are being transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).
What Will You Learn?
Phase 1: Understanding Your Brain (Sessions 1-15)
- How emotions are created and why you react the way you do
- The difference between your emotional brain and rational brain
- Why willpower alone isn't enough for lasting change
- How childhood experiences shape your adult reactions
Phase 2: Emotional Regulation (Sessions 16-30)
- Practical tools for managing anxiety, anger, and depression
- Building resilience to return to joy and peace from painful emotions
- Understanding triggers and developing healthy responses
- Breaking cycles of destructive habits
Phase 3: Healing and Transformation (Sessions 31-50)
- The Emotional Relearningâ„¢ process for changing false beliefs
- Memory reconsolidation: changing how your brain stores painful memories
- Experiencing God as your loving Father who reparents wounded hearts
- Living authentically from the Fruit of the Spirit
The 4 ERs of Emotional Resilience
1. Emotional Recognition
Learning to identify what you're feeling in your body and mind before emotions overwhelm you.

2. Emotional Regulation
Developing skills to return to peace and joy from painful emotions.

3. Emotional Relearningâ„¢
Going deeper to identify and change the false beliefs that drive emotional reactions. This involves understanding how past experiences created "faulty wiring" and replacing lies with truth.

4. Emotional Reliving
Living daily life from your new understanding and healed beliefs. This is where the Fruit of the Spirit becomes natural.

The Fruit of the Spirit as Emotional Resilience
- Love - resilience in relationships, choosing connection over defensiveness
- Joy - resilience in perspective, finding meaning despite difficulties
- Peace - resilience against anxiety and internal turmoil
- Patience - resilience with timing and frustration
- Kindness/Goodness - resilience against bitterness and cynicism
- Faithfulness - resilience in commitment when things get difficult
- Gentleness - resilience against harsh reactivity
- Self-control - resilience against impulsive responses
Why This Approach Works
Unlike programs that focus only on behavior change or only on spiritual growth, Emotional Resilience addresses the whole person:
- Scientifically grounded: Based on current neuroscience research about memory reconsolidation and brain plasticity
- Biblically integrated: The "renewing of your mind" is both a spiritual process and a neurological reality
- Trauma-informed: Recognizes how past wounds affect present reactions
- Practical: Provides concrete tools through the 4 ERs process
- Safe: Includes appropriate boundaries and referrals when needed
